## About this trip

A soul-stirring weekend to Rameshwaram, where history, spirituality and coastal beauty come together. We leave Bangalore on Friday night and wake up on the island town on Saturday morning.

Day one is Rameshwaram itself: darshan at the Ramanathaswamy Temple with India's longest temple corridor, the hilltop shrine at Ramar Padham for panoramic views over the town, and golden hour at the Pamban Bridge as trains glide across the sea. The evening is for group games, easy conversations and finding dinner together.

Day two belongs to Dhanushkodi, the ghost town at the tip of India. Walk the ruins of the old railway station and church, stand at Arichal Munai where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean, see the Kothandaramaswamy Temple that survived the 1964 cyclone and the floating stone linked to the Ram Setu legend, then wrap up with a coastal lunch and souvenir shopping before the overnight drive home.

Travel is by AC tempo traveller with a trip captain throughout, and the night is spent on 3 sharing in Rameshwaram. Meals and entry charges are self-sponsored, so carry some cash. Temples ask for modest clothing, so cover shoulders and knees.

## FAQs

### What should I carry?

A soft copy of your Aadhaar card, comfortable cotton clothes, modest clothing for the temple visits (shoulders and knees covered), a light jacket for the overnight drive, sunscreen, a cap and sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes plus easy-to-remove footwear for the temples, two water bottles, a personal medical kit, polybags for wet clothes, a power bank, extra cash for meals and entry charges, a small backpack for the day, and most importantly your sense of humour and the spirit of adventure.

### What is the check-in policy and how strictly is the daily activity timeline followed?

Activity & daily timeline: The hourly schedule is tentative and designed to give you the best experience. The order of places or the timings may shift because of weather, traffic, local restrictions or road conditions. Darshan timings and queues at the Ramanathaswamy Temple can move the day around, and access to parts of Dhanushkodi depends on the tide, the weather and local vehicle rules.
Early check-in: Standard check-in times apply as per the stay policy, and early check-in is strictly subject to availability on arrival. Where it isn't available, common washrooms and freshen-up areas are provided so you can get ready for the day's plan without delay.

### Is it safe to travel with strangers?

Safety is built into everything we do. Every member completes ID verification before joining. Our community review system means travellers build reputation through completed trips. Plus, tribes typically form through chat and video calls before any trip happens, so by the time you meet, they're not really strangers anymore.

### How does GoWeekender match travellers?

Our Vibe Check algorithm goes beyond basic preferences. We analyse your travel pace (relaxed explorer vs packed itinerary), adventure appetite (chill vibes vs adrenaline junkie), budget comfort zone, and interests like photography, street food, or trekking. The result? You get matched with travellers who genuinely get you, not just people heading to the same place.

### Terms & conditions

We reserve the right to rearrange the itinerary to suit availability without changing the total number of days or compromising on any service. All guests must carry a government-issued ID card. Confirmation of physical and mental health is required before starting the trip. No refund will be provided for problems due to government orders, harsh weather, protests, landslides or other unforeseen circumstances. Cancellation/reschedule: the initial booking amount is non-refundable; 50% of the trip cost is charged if you cancel or reschedule 7 days before the start date, 75% if 3 days before, and 100% within 3 days of departure.
