## About this trip

Wayanad sits high in Kerala's stretch of the Western Ghats, a green, thinly populated district of forested hills, tea and spice estates, streams and wildlife sanctuaries. This weekend trip is built for people who want to slow down without sitting still: misty mornings at a hilltop campsite, waterfalls and tea country by day, and a bonfire under the stars at night.

We leave Bangalore on Friday night and drive through the night, reaching the campsite early on Saturday to freshen up over a proper Kerala breakfast of idlis, dosas and coffee. The day moves from Soochipara Waterfalls, with a short walk in and a chance for a dip, to one of Wayanad's longest ziplines strung over the tea plantations, then lunch at a local eatery and an off-road jeep ride through the forest to the Glass Bridge at 900 Kandi, with wide views over the Wayanad hills. Back at camp, the evening is a bonfire from 9 to 10 PM (weather permitting), dinner, music and stargazing, before a night in tents or rooms at the property.

Sunday starts with 360-degree hill views from the campsite. We spend the morning at Banasura Sagar Dam, where the still water sits against the Banasura hills and you can opt for a speed boat, kayak or coracle ride when the weather allows. After a Kerala-style lunch we visit Wonderland Exotic Pet Farm to meet and feed the animals, watch fresh banana chips being sliced and fried at a live making stop, and then head home through the forest roads of Bandipur.

The pace is easy and suits first-timers. Breakfast on both days and Saturday's dinner are included; lunches, the zipline and other adventure rides, the 900 Kandi jeep and the pet farm entry are paid on the spot. A trip captain stays with the group throughout, and the whole trip is alcohol- and smoke-free.

## Itinerary

### Day 1: DAY 1: Overnight Drive, Soochipara Falls & 900 Kandi

We leave Bangalore on Friday night, with pickups from 9:30 PM at HSR Layout, then Marathahalli (10:00 PM) and Domlur (10:25 PM), so please have dinner before boarding. After the overnight drive we reach a misty hilltop campsite early on Saturday, freshen up over a Kerala breakfast and head to Soochipara Waterfalls. The afternoon brings the zipline over the tea estates, lunch at a local eatery and an off-road jeep ride to the Glass Bridge at 900 Kandi, before a bonfire (weather permitting) and dinner back at camp.

- 7:00 AM Reach the hilltop campsite & freshen up: Arrive after the overnight drive from Bangalore at a misty hilltop campsite in tents or rooms, with separate western washrooms for men and women.
- 8:00 AM Kerala breakfast at the camp: A true Kerala-style breakfast of idlis, dosas and coffee. Included in the package.
- 9:30 AM Soochipara Waterfalls: A short nature walk to the falls, which cascade over rocky cliffs into a cool pool. Take in the views or go for a dip.
