The trip
Chikmagalur and Sakleshpura sit in the heart of Karnataka's coffee country, where the Western Ghats roll out in misty ridges, coffee estates and hidden waterfalls. This long-weekend getaway from Bangalore packs in the best of both: a hike up Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka, a refreshing dip at Jhari Waterfalls, golden-hour views over Hirekolale Lake and a bonfire night at a Chikmagalur campsite.
The second half slows the pace down in Sakleshpura with a scenic drive deeper into the Ghats, the serene Devaramane temple and its meadows, a coffee estate nature walk and a valley sunset viewpoint before a campfire evening at the homestay. On the last day, explore the star-shaped Manjarabad Fort and the intricately carved Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebidu before the drive back to Bangalore.
