The trip
Gokarna is Karnataka's coastline at its most unhurried: a small temple town with a string of hidden beaches strung along the cliffs, most of them reachable only on foot. This weekend walks that string end to end.
Saturday is the trek. Roughly 10 km of easy coastal trail runs from Belekan Beach past Paradise Beach and its untouched sand, down to crescent-shaped Half Moon for a lunch break on the rocks and the short climb to the Rock of Peace, then the steepest stretch of the day into Om Beach, named for the shape it draws on the shore. There are cafes and trinket stalls at Om, and if the sea is generous you may spot dolphins off the horizon. The trail ends at Kudle Beach for sunset, and the night belongs to the group: dinner at the stay, a campfire, and the sound of waves.
Sunday heads up the coast. Murudeshwar first, where a 123-foot statue of Shiva looks out over the Arabian Sea from a headland beside a 20-storey gopura, then Honnavar for a sunset boat ride through the Sharavathi backwaters as the river widens to meet the sea. Dinner is a halt en route before the overnight drive home; you are back in Bengaluru at around 6:00 AM on Monday.
The trek is graded easy, the group stays small, and you sleep in shared AC dorms with bunk beds a short walk from the sand. Come for the beaches, stay for the people you walk them with.

Questions about this trip
What should I carry?
Soft copy of your Aadhaar or Voter ID (mandatory for permits), a small backpack for the day, trekking shoes with good grip, a compact raincoat or backpack cover, two one-litre water bottles, a torch or headlamp, flip-flops, warm layers and a jacket, extra clothes to change into, poly bags for wet clothes, a power bank and charging cable, and extra cash for meals and activities not covered in the package.
How hard is the trek?
It is graded easy. The route covers about 10 km of coastal trail across Belekan, Paradise, Half Moon, Om and Kudle beaches, spread over the whole of Saturday with plenty of stops. The 2.5-3 km stretch into Om Beach is the steepest part of the day. Anyone comfortable on their feet for a few hours will manage it; good grip on your shoes matters more than fitness here.
What is the check-in policy and how strictly is the daily timeline followed?
Activity and daily timeline: the hourly schedule is tentative and designed to give you the best experience. The order of places or the timings may shift with weather, traffic, local restrictions or road conditions. Check-in: standard check-in times apply as per the stay's policy, and early check-in is subject to room availability on arrival. Where early check-in isn't available, common washrooms and freshen-up areas are provided so you can get ready for the day without delay.
Is it safe to travel with strangers?
Safety is built into everything we do. Every member completes ID verification before joining. Our community review system means travellers build a reputation through completed trips. Plus, tribes typically form through chat and video calls before any trip happens, so by the time you meet, they're not really strangers anymore.
Are your trips safe for women?
On all of our trips, safety is non-negotiable and our priority. Female outdoor leaders accompany every group, the stays are secure, and we guarantee separate sleeping arrangements for men and women.
